November 4, 2021
The Evening of Thanksgiving is Providence Christian Academy's primary fundraiser. Our last annual dinner was November 4, 2021 at Faith United Reformed Church in Beecher, Illinois.
The evening began with a time of fellowship and punch. After everyone was asked to take their seats, board member Rev. Mark Vander Hart opened with devotions and prayer. Everyone then enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Ciao Bella.
In lieu of a guest speaker, school administration offered updates on happenings around Providence. Principal Melodie McKenzie provided various ways parents and association members can use their talents and interests around school. School Board President Tim Boer laid out the desire to continue pursing the Rhetoric School as well as the possibility of adding preschool. School Board Treasurer Doug Hoekstra presented the financial state of PCA and encouraged the association to continue giving as they are able.
As a way to bring the students back into the event, a video was created and debuted. It shows the students reciting memorization and answering a variety of serious and light hearted questions.
To end the dinner, alumni James Boer sang a medley of hymns. He then joined eleven other alumni in singing 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.' After board member Joel Porte closed in prayer, all attendees sang 'This Is My Father's World.'
We are grateful for everyone who attended the event and contributed financially. If you have any questions or are interested in attending in the future, feel free to contact us for more information.
